EXPLORING THE FIRST SETTLEMENTS, STATES, AND EMPIRES IN TURKEY: FROM THE NEOLITHIC TO THE HITTITE PERIODS

Day 1: Monday 21 September
- Arrival in Konya (participants are responsible for their travel, but see the information below*)
- Private transfer from airport
- Check in to the Novotel Konya for 3 nights
Day 2: Tuesday 22 September
- Lecture 1: Introduction to Course, and Neolithic Çatalhöyük in Context (at hotel)
- Site visits: Çatalhöyük and Konya Regional Museum
- Group lunch at local restaurant
- Lecture 2: Hittite Rock Monuments (at hotel)
- Welcome Dinner at local restaurant, Lokmahane
Day 3: Wednesday 23 September
- Site visit: Hittite rock monuments in Beysehir
- Group lunch at local restaurant
- Lecture 3: Hittite Cities: Hattusa and Alacahöyük in Context (at hotel)
Day 4: Thursday 24 September
- Checkout
- Site visit: Aşıklı Höyük in Aksaray
- Group lunch at local restaurant
- Private coach transfer to Ankara
- Check in to Ankara Radisson Blu Hotel for 3 nights
Day 5: Friday 25 September
- Site visits: Hattusa and Alacahöyük
- Group lunch at local restaurant
Day 6: Saturday 26 September
- Lecture 4: Neolithic and Hittite Material Culture (at hotel)
- Site visit: Anatolian Civilisations Museum
- Group lunch at local restaurant
Day 7: Sunday 27 September
- Early flight to Şanlıurfa
- Private transfer to Hilton Garden Inn and check in for 2 nights
- Lecture 5: Neolithic Göbekli Tepe and Karahan Tepe in Context (at hotel)
- Site visit: Sanlıurfa Museum
Day 8: Monday 28 September
- Site visits: Göbekli Tepe and Karahan Tepe
- Box lunch
- Farewell Dinner at Cevahirhan Restaurant
Day 9: Tuesday 29 September
- Private transfer to Şanlıurfa airport for return flights*
