BSS&A 2026 in Paris Course Itinerary
Friday 23 to Monday 26 October 2026
Note: The original dates, previously advertised as 22 - 25 October, have been moved to Friday 23 October to Monday 26 October due to Eurostar tunnel engineering works which prevent train travel on the weekend.
ANCIENT EGYPT IN PARIS: EXPLORING THE EGYPTIAN COLLECTION AT THE LOUVRE
Course Director: Dr Luigi Prada (Uppsala University)
Day 1:
- Late afternoon / evening arrival to Paris*
- Optional meet-and-greet at local café / bar (self-funded)
Day 2:
- Lecture 1
- Lecture 2
- Walk / take Metro from lecture location to local café for lunch (self-funded) and then on to the Louvre
- Guided tour through the ancient Egypt collections
- Free time
- Welcome Dinner at local restaurant (alcohol not included)
Day 3:
- Lecture 3
- Lecture 4
- Walk / take Metro from lecture location to local café for lunch (self-funded) and then on to the Louvre
- Guided tour through the ancient Egypt collections and course wrap-up
- Optional social gathering at local café / bar (self-funded)
- For participants wishing to travel home on Sunday evening, note that due to Eurostar tunnel engineering works, train travel to London will not recommence until Monday morning.
Day 4:
- Travel home / commence onward journey*
